About me.

The long & winding road.

I’m from Aalborg in Denmark and moved to Portugal in 2019. On my way I made a ‘quick’ stop of 31 year’s living in Holland and Belgium. Both times in the province called Limburg. I am located close to Caldas da Rainha just 100 km north of Lisboa.

 

Creativity.

I have ‘since the begining of time’ been drawing, come '20' years of age and also at '30' I explored the wonders of acrylics and oil painting but both times ended being caught up in a busy life! 

Since I came to Portugal my days circles around painting and the days flies by. Especially the last two years after I moved and got more creative space.

 

My paintings.

Art starts when copying ends. You'll see that my paintings covers a wide range of themes, techniques and canvas sizes. Exception is my filt pen color drawings, they are mostly 'A4' format.

When you for the first time takes a look at a painting your intuition will straight away make up your opinion. Look further or walk on! I'm trying to make you stop and look. What I see is not what you see. The associations I make is not the ones you'll make. 

That is the power of abstract. I made and I see a sun. Today you see a cottonball and tomorrow a moon. A new day brings new views, new feelings, a different light. 

How you see a painting depends on so many factors. Like the room, ambient and artificial light, wall color, time of day, angle and color of light and maybe most important how you feel today.

For all these reasons I want you to look, to have the expirience without my thoughts to influence you.

My aim is that we both, YOU & I, like the painting, but it will be for different reasons.

Painting is a process. I have seen the process, only I know why and how the  painting was created, so I have an intimate relation to my art which nobody else possible can have, looking at a finished painting.

Atleast at first I want  you, to look, expirience, sense, feel the painting, not being influenced by my biased thoughts.

When the painting is finished the viewer is more important than me. I had my fun making the painting, making something I like and only if I like it others will get to see my painting and hopefully enjoy the painting.
